Christopher Nolan And Emma Thomas Receive The Title Of British Noble

JAKARTA - Director Christopher Nolan and producer Emma Thomas received the title of nationalist from King Charles III. The married couple received the award directly at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, December 18.

The award was awarded for their contribution to cinema globally. Nolan was given a knighthood title while Thomas was awarded a damehood title.

"Arise, Sir Christopher Nolan and Dame Emma Thomas! Congratulations to all who received today's inauguration ceremony awards including film director Christopher Nolan and film producer Emma Thomas," Buckingham Palace tweeted.

"This couple is recognized as an extraordinary contribution to the film industry by producing best-selling films such as The Dark Knight and Oppenheimer trilogy," he said.

The 54-year-old director said King Charles liked Oppenheimer and hoped this support could be a continuation for film.

"I'm very happy they know the results of our work and realize, and yes, he hopes I can use this as support to do more than this," Christopher Nolan said.

What really makes me happy is the fact that I have heard stories about many young people who first watched this story on the big screen, then studied it further and did more research on their own about the events we described," added Emma Thomas.

Thanks to the film Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan got his first trophy as best director at the 2023 Golden Globe.

Nolan and Emma Thomas met at University College London (UCL) where they started associations in student films. They are currently married and have four children.

On the other hand, Christopher Nolan is preparing his latest film whose title has not been revealed. The film will be played by Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong'o and others.
