West Sumbawa Regent Asks ASN To Use And Introduce Local Weaving
The Regent of West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Musyafirin asked state civil servants (ASN) to familiarize themselves with local woven fabrics in order to support the development of weaving centers in the local area.
"All ASN are expected to use local woven," he said at the opening of the Mantar Weaving exhibition held by PT. AMNT in collaboration with Digital Weaving Nusantara in the local area, Saturday.
He said the letter from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs asked the local government how to raise the use of domestic weaving. Including the NTB Government, it also has a program to intensify the use of local weaving and requires all ASN to use weaving.
"This is important and so that this is more focused on its development, so that Mantar Village can be used as a weaving center for West Sumbawa," he said.
In addition, said the Regent, it is important for all parties to build collaboration between villages, so that they can support the development of woven fabrics in order to support the economic growth of the community.
"Besides the good thing, we make a ikat weaving center, there is also a good view. So later collaborative work from all parties is very important to develop weaving in Mantar Village, especially," he said.

Meanwhile, representatives of PT AMNT Dimas Purnama said the implementation of the activity was in the form of partnerships and collaborations, involving the entire Weaving group Mantar.
"Alhamdulillah, this activity is fully supported by local governments and to carry out this exhibition has gone through a two-year process in coaching and success as witnessed today," he said.
He said this exhibition is also part of a cultural conservation mission that is certainly very proud and weaving new motifs are starting to emerge.
"God willing, we will continue to develop this program in order to support tourism in West Sumbawa Regency," he said.
