Government Guyur Compensation And Subsidy Of IDR 232.8 Trillion For Pertamina And PLN

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance reported that until October 2023, the government had distributed subsidies and compensation of Rp232.8 trillion to two energy companies, Pertamina and PLN. This subsidy and compensation is used to pay for electricity and fuel and 3 kg LPG gas.

"For subsidies and electricity compensation, IDR 83.4 trillion has been spent and IDR 97.2 trillion for fuel," said the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, quoted on Saturday, November 25.

Sri Mulyani detailed, until October 2023, the subsidies and electricity compensation that had been paid were IDR 83.4 trillion, which had been paid IDR 8.3 trillion per month for 39.6 million subsidy customers and IDR 48.2 million compensation customers.

Meanwhile, 3 kg LPG subsidies have been paid IDR 52.2 trillion, with details of IDR 5.2 trillion per month for 6.1 million metric tons (MT). Then the subsidy and compensation for fuel that has been paid is IDR 97.2 trillion or IDR 9.7 trillion per month as much as 13,327.6 thousand kiloliters (KL) for subsidized bbm and 11,489.3 thousand KL compensation.

According to him, this realization decreased by 17.82 percent compared to the same period last year of IDR 425.6 trillion.

The Director General of Budget, Isa Rachmatawarta, explained that the decline was triggered by the price of oil and gas commodities which continued to decline compared to last year.

"So the pressure to Pertamina and PLN for liquidity and so on is much lower than last year," said Isa.

Therefore, said Isa, his party also continues to measure compensation payments, especially non-KL spending lower than last year by adjusting commodity prices.
