Beat Monaco, PSG Is Getting Better To Leave Nice

JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain performed their best when they beat Monaco 5-2 in the French Ligue 1 match at the Parc des Princes, Saturday, November 25 in the morning WIB. The victory that confirmed PSG at the top of the standings left second place in Nice.

Monaco are actually PSG's tough rivals. Monaco's success in ranking third shows that they are again PSG's competitors in the race for the league title.

Apart from Monaco, Nice has remained in second place. They didn't let PSG alone chase the Ligue 1 title this season.

Only, PSG began to move away from the pursuit of its competitors. Monaco became a team that Les Parisiens could leave behind. In a duel at home, PSG won big over Monaco who unexpectedly did not put up a meaningful fight.

The win saw PSG pocketed point 30. They are four points ahead of Nice. And, whatever the result of Nice's match against Toulouse doesn't affect PSG's position at the top.

Meanwhile, Monaco failed to shift Nice. The defeat in that match did not change Monaco's position in third place with 24 points. They are two points adrift with Nice.

In that match, PSG was able to show its dominance over Monaco. The Goncalo Ramos striker, who just received a permanent contract a few days ago after previously holding a loan from Benfica, opened the host's victory party in the 18th minute.

PSG's only advantage did not last long. Monaco managed to steal the goal through Japanese national team midfielder Takumi Minamino in the 22. The former Liverpool player's goal changed the score to 1-1.

However, PSG quickly turned ahead after the star Kylian Mbappe scored from the penalty spot in the 38th minute. Penalti was awarded after defender Soungoutou Magassa fouled Ousmane Dembele.

For the violation, the referee pointed to the spot and Mbappe completed the execution. Goalkeeper Philipp Koehn could actually read the direction of the ball and almost thwart it. The score becomes 2-1 for PSG and lasts until the end of the first half.

In the second half, PSG did not lower the tempo of the game. However, they struggled to penetrate Monaco's strong defense.

Until finally Dembele who increased PSG's advantage in the 70th minute. He took advantage of Fabian Ruiz's assist.

Only two minutes later, PSG became increasingly unstoppable and added goals through Vitinha after welcoming assists from Mbappe. The score changed to 4-1.

Monaco are moving fast. They broke into the PSG goal again which was escorted by Gianluigi Donnarumma through Folarin Balogun after completing Minamino's assist in the 75th minute.

But PSG can't stop it. Moreover, Randal Kolo Muani closed PSG's party. He scored in injury time or 90+6 minutes which made PSG win 5-2.
