Firli Bahuri Files Pretrial Lawsuit, Against Metro Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto
JAKARTA - KPK chairman Firli Bahuri filed a pretrial lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court. The lawsuit is regarding his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
"The South Jakarta District Court has received a pretrial application on behalf of applicant Firli Bahuri," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations official, Djuyamto in his statement, Friday, November 24.
The pretrial lawsuit is registered with the number: 129/Pid.Pra/2023/JKT.SEL. Where, Firli Bahuri as the applicant, and the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto as the respondent.
With this lawsuit, the Chairman of the South Jakarta District Court has appointed the sole judge Imelda Herawati to examine and try the case for the judicial request.
"The single judge has set the first day of trial on Monday, December 11, 2023," said Djuyamto.
The steps taken by Firli Bahuri by filing a pretrial lawsuit are like other state officials named as suspects by the KPK.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.
Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.
Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
