2 NTT Brimob Victims Of The Papuan KKB Shooting Get An Extraordinary Promotion

The Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police, Kombes Pol Ariasandy, said that two members of the NTT Police Mobile Brigade who were victims of the KKB shooting in Papua received an extraordinary promotion (KPLB) from the National Police Chief.

"Two Brimob personnel from the NTT Police who have served in Papua and become victims of the shooting will get an extraordinary promotion," he said in Kupang, Thursday, November 23, as reported by Antara.

He said this was related to the shooting incident between KKB Intan Jaya and the Cartenz Peace Task Force (CDC Task Force) which occurred around Titigi Village, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua on Wednesday, November 22 yesterday.

During the firefight, two members of the NTT Mobile Brigade Unit DC Task Force were shot. Bharatu Rani Yohanes Seran was shot in the left thigh and is currently still being treated intensively.

Meanwhile, Bharada Bonifasius Java alias Boy died when he was shot in the right back.

He explained that the Javanese Bonifasius who died was promoted to posthumous rank from Bharada to Bharatu. Meanwhile, Rani Yohanes Seran, who was shot in the left leg, received an extraordinary promotion one level above her after previously holding the rank of Bharatu.

"The promotion is one level according to the KPLB's decision from the National Police Chief," he said.

KPLB is a rank given to members of the National Police at a higher level as a form of appreciation for extraordinary achievements in carrying out police duties.

Bharatu (anumerta) Boy Java itself is a member of Company 1 Battalion C of the NTT Police Mobile Brigade Unit which has been carrying out its duties in Papua since the end of December 2022.

For the victims who were shot and died, namely Bharatu Bonifasius Java, they will be delivered to Kupang on Thursday (23/11 and arrive in Kupang on Friday (24/11) tomorrow morning and delivered to Bajawa, Ngada Regency during the day.
