RI Sends Humanitarian Aid To Palestine As Real Evidence Of National Solidarity
JAKARTA - House Speaker Puan Maharani welcomed the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians after Hamas and Israel announced the ceasefire and release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. According to her, this assistance is not only material, but also a moral message and emotional support for Palestinians.
"The DPR will continue to encourage the Government's continued steps to show a real commitment to supporting humanitarian missions to help Palestinians affected by the conflict," said Puan, Thursday, November 23.
In the early hours of Wednesday (22/11), Indonesia again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian values by distributing US$2 million worth of aid to Palestinians who were victims of Israeli attacks. This assistance is in the form of medicines and medical equipment channeled through the International Development Cooperation Fund Institute (LDKPI).
The aid departed from Soekarno Hatta International Airport Terminal, Tangerang, Banten. Puan said the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people was a strategic step to support peace efforts between Israel and Palestine.
"This humanitarian action is a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian nation's solidarity with our brothers in Palestine who are facing serious challenges due to conflict," explained the first woman to serve as Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

"Through this assistance, we hope to pave the way for peace and justice that we aspire to together. Moreover, assistance is very much needed in the midst of difficulties in the supply of food and medicine," added Puan.
According to him, humanitarian aid knows no boundaries and applies to anyone in need. Puan said, Indonesia has a responsibility to contribute to realizing a world full of peace in accordance with the constitutional mandate.
"In difficult situations like this, humanitarian measures are important points that reflect our moral values and concern as the Indonesian nation," he said.
On the other hand, Puan highlighted the role of LDKPI in distributing aid. In a complex conflict situation, she considered the involvement of the institution very crucial to ensure that aid can reach the target effectively and on time.
"I want to appreciate LDKPI for working hard in distributing this assistance. Collaboration between the Government and this institution is the key to success in delivering humanitarian assistance in the midst of difficult conditions," said Puan.
The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture added that the Indonesian Government's move is expected to be an inspiration for other countries to participate in helping overcome the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and in various parts of the world. Puan said that the commitment to sending humanitarian aid was inseparable from the support and role of other elements of the nation.
"I hope these humanitarian efforts can become the foundation for building global peace and justice," said Bung Karno's grandson.
Puan ensured that the DPR also continues to encourage the creation of peace in Palestine through various means. One of them is through diplomatic channels, both informal and formal, such as voicing support for Palestine in international forums.
In fact, Puan herself did not hesitate to speak out loudly asking for the cessation of Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip. As in the G20 Parliamentary Speaker's Summit or the 9th P20 which was held in India some time ago. Puan together with the leaders of the parliament of Turkey, China, South Africa and Russia raised their objections to the conclusion of the forum session of the G20 countries.
