Hyundai Is Preparing For Next Generation High-Sex Sedans
Hyundai is preparing for the arrival of the next generation of i30 Sedan N. This South Korean manufacturer plans to launch the model around 2026.
Albert Biermann, who serves as Hyundai's Executive Technical Advisor, revealed that they are designing this high-performance sedan to match the 2.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that has been used on Sonata N Line.
"I think we can still reach a great level of power, maybe the equivalent of the current one," said Biermann as reported by Drive, Wednesday, November 22.
However, Biermann also implies the possibility that the model could be equipped with the latest engines, taking into account the company's vision of increasingly focusing on electrification and increasingly stringent emission policies.
While hot hatch i30 N and i20 N will be suspended in Europe due to increasingly stringent emission rules, this car under the other name 'Elantra' will remain available in markets such as the US, South Korea, and Australia, where the regulation is not enforced.
"Australia is safe, America will be safe, but someone has to make a decision. Markets other than that, just forget about it," added Biermann.
With increasingly strict emission rules, high-performance gasoline-powered vehicles may not be suitable for many markets around the world.

As an illustration of the performance of the next generation, i30 N or Elantra N is expected to carry the Sonata N Line engine, namely a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine capable of producing up to 213 kW of power and 422 Nm of torque, which will be paired with a dual-clutch eight acceleration transmission system.
