Members In Medan Entangled In OTT Alleged Extortion Of Legislative Candidates, Indonesian Bawaslu Asked To Report DKPP
JAKARTA - The Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) is still waiting for a report from the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding the arrest of members of the Medan City Bawaslu during a hand arrest operation (OTT) of the North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra).
"Bawaslu RI can report to DKPP," said member of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) Muhammad Tio Aliansyah at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 20, which was confiscated by Antara.
He explained, if there are allegations of involvement of other members, Bawaslu is welcome to report to the DKPP because in the Election Law, DKPP is passive.
"We are waiting for the attitude of the Indonesian Bawaslu, what is their attitude regarding the alleged case," he said.
He explained, when there is a report, DKPP will reassess based on the stages in following up on reports, including conducting administrative verification to ensure whether they meet the requirements or not.
"Then the material verification to ensure whether there is a substance issue or not," he added.

The chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, who asked Bawaslu to take a firm stance regarding the case of members of the Medan City Bawaslu who were caught OTT on suspicion of extortion against potential legislative members (caleg).
"I think Bawaslu must take a firm stance on this," said Doli.
He believes that this firm step regarding cases of riots needs to be taken immediately so as not to erode public trust in election organizers and in organizing the election itself.
Previously, Bawaslu Puadi member stated that Medan City Bawaslu member Azlansyah Hasibuan had been temporarily dismissed after being named a suspect.
He also asked the North Sumatra Province Bawaslu to submit an ethical complaint to the DKPP.
"We ask the provincial Bawaslu to submit an ethical complaint to the DKPP so that it is dismissed. It is terminated permanently based on the DKPP decision," he said.
