Firli Bahuri Claims The Police Wrongly Searched The House Related To The SYL Case: The Owner Has Objections And Is Uncomfortable

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said the police had wrongly searched three houses related to the extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. As a result, the owner of the house objected and was uncomfortable because of the incident.

It is known that police investigators searched Firli's house on October 26 to find evidence of the allegation. Firli said that based on the permit, five houses were searched.

"We received a search permit which was then aimed at five houses while the other three houses had the wrong address and not my house," Firli said at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 20.

As a result, the media wrote that the house was his house based on police recognition. "Of course the party who owns the house objected to me and to those who conducted the search," said Firli.

"Until today, the person concerned also feels uncomfortable," continued the former Deputy for Corruption Eradication of the KPK, Agus Rahardjo.

Even so, Firli emphasized that the search in Bekasi, West Java did not produce anything. However, this is different from the house he rented on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46, South Jakarta.

Firli said, there the investigators confiscated three items which he claimed had never been shown. In fact, when he was examined, the evidence was not issued.

"There were three items confiscated in the form of keys, padlocks, and car keys. And during the examination to this day, I have never seen the confiscated items and have never been shown to me," he said.

Previously reported, the Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri had explained that the documents and other items confiscated by investigators must be related to the alleged extortion of Syahrul.

This was conveyed after coordinating with the anti-corruption commission at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, November 17. He said this step was to shed light on the allegations that recently dragged KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

"Essentially, all investigative activities at this stage of investigation are to find, collect evidence," Ade told reporters after holding a closed meeting.

"The evidence makes light of the crime and finds the suspect," he continued.

Ade revealed that there were a number of documents that had indeed been confiscated. Although it was not detailed, one of them was Firli's state administrators' wealth report (LHKPN).

"It has been submitted and then confiscated by the investigative team (Polda Metro, ed) for investigation purposes. We cannot convey some documents here because this is related to the investigation material, we will update it later," he said.
