PLN's PLTS Auction Project Is Considered Slow, Here Are The Obstacles
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) assesses that the auction development of the Roof Solar Power Plant (PLTS) project initiated by PT PLN (Persero) is running slowly.
The Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Dirjen EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Yudo Dwinanda Priaadi said the program was still in process, but was moving slowly.
The slow pace of this program is due to the location of projects in remote areas.
"The point is we are talking about remote places, supply that must be stable," said Yudo, quoted on Thursday, November 16.
Apart from location, another factor that affects is the price problem that has not reached an agreement between the two parties.
Previously, it was reported that PT PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) was ready to accelerate the 2023 Greennesia project through funding support for the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) program.
The program is in line with the 2021-2030 Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), which includes PLN IP to develop green energy with a capacity of seven gigawatts (GW) and spread over 108 locations throughout Indonesia.
The Greennesia 2023 program is in the process of selecting strategic partners for the development of a number of strategic green energy projects of PT PLN Indonesia Power such as PLTS Banyuwangi, PLTS Pasuruan, PLTS Floating Gajah Mungkur, PLTS Floating Kedung Ombo, and PLTS Floating Jatigede, each with a capacity of 100 MW.

Apart from Greennesia, PLN also carries out a program to accelerate or convert around 5,200 diesel power plants (PLTD) which are currently still operating in a number of areas, especially in remote areas.
This PLTD will later be converted to new and renewable energy-based generators (EBT), gas plants, as well as integration with the national grid.
