Discussing RPM Telecommunication Equipment Certification, Kominfo Opens Public Consultation
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has again opened public consultations to discuss the Draft Ministerial Regulation (RPM) regarding telecommunications equipment certification or Telecommunications Devices.
This Kominfo effort is to involve the community in making regulations. The telecommunications equipment certification has also been regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 16 of 2018 concerning the Provisions for Operational Certification of Equipment and/or Postal and Informatics Equipment with provisions in Government Regulation Number 46 of 2021 concerning Posts, Telecommunications and Broadcasting.
"In order to implement the provisions of Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning the Establishment of Legislation and its amendments related to the participation of the community in the drafting of laws and regulations, it is deemed necessary to conduct public consultations on the Draft Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information regarding Telecommunications Equipment Certification and/or Telecommunications Devices," wrote the official statement of Kominfo, Monday, November 13, confiscated by Antara.
As for the RPM, 12 points of which are adjusted to the technical standard terms for telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunications equipment in accordance with the provisions of Government Regulation Number 46 of 2023 concerning Posts, Telecommunications, and Broadcasting.

Then, provisions regarding the issuance of telecommunications equipment certificates and/or telecommunications equipment, provisions regarding changes to telecommunications equipment certificates and/or telecommunications equipment, labels and warning signs on telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunications devices.
Followed by submitting data and information through the official website of the Directorate General of SDPPI and the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) system, telecommunications equipment certificate fees and/or telecommunications equipment, telecommunications equipment and/or prohibited telecommunications equipment, supervision and control, administrative sanctions, other provisions and closed provisions.
There are also attachments to label formats and warning signs for telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunications devices.
To improve and provide opportunities for the community to submit responses/input on the related RPM until November 17, 2023.
