Jay Weinberg 'Heart And Blind' After Being Fired By Slipknot
JAKARTA - Jay Weinberg told about his dismissal from Slipknot last week by saying he was "heartbroken and blind" with the decision.
In an official statement on social media released November 5, the Iowan numerical band said it was "intending to thrive", and had made a creative decision that Weinberg was leaving the band.
This is the second time in five months Slipknot has lost a member, after keyboardist Craig Jones left the group in June.
Now, in a statement shared to Instagram, Weinberg reflected on his departure from Slipknot, by writing: "I was heartbroken and blind when I received a phone call on the morning of November 5; the news is that most of you know that soon after. However, I feel touched and grateful for the outpouring of love and support that I received from the extraordinary community that I consider my creative and artistic home.
This is not the end of the journey I dream of, and I am committed to solving it not in the long term. However, despite confusion and sadness, there is something that gives the same comfort. For many of you who read this: 10 years ago, we didn't know each other yet. And now, we are there. For that, I am grateful in a way that I can never fully express.
He continued: I love playing drums. I will always love playing drums. I will always have a passion for music, art, and creative expression. Nothing will change that.
