Facing The Entry Of Rainy Seasons, BPBD Map Disaster-Prone Points In Bandar Lampung
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bandar Lampung City has mapped out hydrometeorological disaster-prone points in its area considering the start of the rainy season.
"Based on a disaster risk study, there are a number of sub-districts that are prone to floods, tidal floods, and landslides," said Head of BPBD Bandar Lampung City Ahmad Husna in Bandar Lampung, Friday, November 10, quoted by Antara.
He mentioned that areas that are classified as prone to tidal flooding are Panjang, Bumiwaras, South Teleukbetung, West Telukbetung, and East Telukbetung sub-districts.
"For flood-prone areas, there are Rajabasa, Peace, Milling and Sukabumi sub-districts. Meanwhile, landslide-prone areas are in Panjang, Sukabumi and Kemiling," he said.
Therefore, he continued, it is hoped that the people in these disaster-prone areas can be more vigilant and prepare themselves for unfavorable weather during the transition this season.
"In 2023 there will still be no significant natural disaster in Bandarlampung. But we ask the public to remain vigilant," he said.

He also revealed that for flood disasters that occur in Bandar Lampung, usually the cause is due to high rainfall in upstream areas, so that the impact of high water flow to this city.
"But in 2023, areas that often flood do not happen again, this is because the management of waterways and drainage is good enough. It's just that for tidal flooding that cannot be anticipated because it is a natural factor," he said.
