Survey Proves, 28.2 Percent Of The Public Likes To Provide Cash Assistance During Elections
JAKARTA - The results of a recent survey from the Populi Center survey institute entitled "Starting Point: Electoral Position Ahead of the 2024 Election Campaign" noted that 28.2 percent of respondents liked the most useful social activities during the 2024 presidential election campaign period, which will begin with the provision of cash assistance.
"Regarding the social entertainment activities that we like, we know that on November 28, the campaign will officially open, we need to see what social activities the public thinks are the most useful, 28.2 percent assessing that providing assistance is the most useful activity," said Populi Center researcher Hartanto Rosojati in a release of the results of the Populi Center National Survey Road to 2024 Election in Jakarta reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.
In addition to cash assistance, other social activities that are most useful according to the public are 26.3 percent free treatment, then 25.8 percent distribution of basic necessities and 14.4 percent of low-cost markets.
Meanwhile, other activities, such as agricultural assistance, the value of infrastructure development is only one percent.
In this survey, Populi Center also captured related to entertainment activities that were liked or useful during the campaign, namely religious lectures of 56.9 percent, followed by sports activities of 14.8 percent and cultural arts performances of 14.5 percent.
"So the public considers religious activities to be the most useful meeting, after which sports activities, cultural arts performances, music concerts are 6.8 percent, and other activities such as 'August' momentum and others by 0.2 percent," said Hartanto.
However, in this survey, there are also the public who do not want to answer or do not know, which is 6.8 percent.
The Populi Center national survey was conducted after the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates at the Indonesian KPU, from October 29 to November 5, with 1,200 randomly selected respondents (multistage random sampling). The sample of respondents spread proportionally in 38 provinces, including four New Autonomous Regions in the Papua region.

The method of data taking in this survey is carried out through face-to-face interviews using the Populi Center survey application. The margin of error (MoE) is estimated at approximately 2.83 percent, and the confidence figure is 95 percent.
"The purpose of the survey is to find out public perceptions about the political dynamics related to the three pairs of candidates who have registered with the KPU as participants in the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections, as well as the dynamics and national issues that are being discussed," he said.
It is known that the 2024 presidential election was attended by three pairs of candidates, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Hartanto said that mapping support for the three pairs of candidates would be a point of entry, both for each candidate in welcoming the upcoming general election. "In addition, this survey also explored public perceptions of various national dynamics and issues that have become a topic of discussion. The survey was conducted using internal funding," Hartanto said.
