Starlink Wins Satellite Contract In Mexico
JAKARTA - Starlink, a satellite internet service owned by rocket manufacturing company SpaceX owned by billionaire Elon Musk, has won a tender from a Mexican state energy company to provide services until December 2026. This was revealed according to company documents on Monday, November 6.
This contract is worth between 887.5 million pesos (Rp794.3 billion) to 1.8 billion pesos (Rp1.5 trillion), in accordance with a decision from the Commission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) Mexico.
Starlink's offer beat two other companies for "proposing the best in terms of price," the document reads.

This contract will provide infrastructure for CFE in the development of internet access across rural areas of Mexico. This is a pilot contract from CFE.
In the pilot contract, it was stated that the agreement began last month and lasted until December 31, 2026.
