Attorney For Claims Defendant Yohan Never Met Contractors Illegally Discuss BTS Projects
Attorney for former Human Development (Hudev) Expert at the University of Indonesia (UI) Yohan Suryanto said his client had never met with prospective contractors and subcontractors illegally in order to determine the implementation of the work before the announcement of the BTS project procurement auction.
"Defendant Yohan Suryanto has also never met with prospective contractors or subcontractors," said Benny Daga, attorney for Yohan Suryanto, during a duplicate trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (Jakpus), Monday 6 November, confiscated by Antara.
According to Benny, the meeting with Anang Achmad Latif, Elvano Hotarangan, and Feriandi Mirza, in 2020-2022 was just an online meeting (online meeting) via zoom and there was a discussion via group. However, none of them involved a prospective contractor or subcontractor. Benny explained that his client had never met any vendors to arrange tenders and orders.
"The study conducted by the defendant Yohan Suryanto is in accordance with the rules," said Benny.
The trial of the agenda for reading the verdict against Johnny G. Plate, Anang Achmad Latif, and Yohan Suryanto will be held on Wednesday 8 November at the Central Jakarta District Court.

The public prosecutor (JPU) charged the defendant Yohan Suryanto with imprisonment for 6 years, a fine of Rp. 250 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 399 million, subsidiary to 3 years in prison.
Yohan is considered legally and convincingly guilty of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
The Public Prosecutor also demanded that former Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate be sentenced to 15 years in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 1 year in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 17.8 billion, subsidiary to 7.5 years in prison.
In addition, former President Director of Bakti Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif was sentenced to 18 years in prison, and was demanded to pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 12 months in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 5 billion, subsidiary to 9 years in prison.
