Offered To Enter The Anies-Cak Imin Campaign Team, Din Syamsuddin: No Need

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board (PP) Din Syamsuddin rejected the offer to join the campaign team for presidential and vice presidential candidates, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin).

"To me, there is no need to accept or what to do, let alone be (the campaign team)," said Din when meeting Cak Imin at the PKB DPP office, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 3.

Din explained that he did not need to be included in the structure of the winning team because it was clear that he supported Anies-Cak Imin in the 2024 presidential election.

This was reinforced by his visit to the offices of the Change Coalition parties by bringing a number of high-ranking Islamic organizations to express their support.

"Because what I show openly with good intentions, mind, this is more than a successful team. So, there is no need to enter it," said Din.

Previously, Cak Imin admitted that he wanted Din to join the campaign team to work to win over him and Anies in next year's presidential election.

"Certainly, we hope that these Islamic figures, leaders of Islamic organizations, will later we hope to help AMIN win because the passion to help is very strong," said Cak Imin.

Some time ago, the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu said that his party would also propose Din Syamsuddin to be part of the AMIN national team.

"We, God willing, will also propose him in the winning team," said Syaikhu at the PKS DPP, Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 26.

According to Syaikhu, Din Syamsuddin is an experienced and broad-minded figure. Therefore, he believes, Di will strengthen the winning composition of the Anies-Cak Imin candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election.

"We really hope that he will also be able to strengthen the winning team of the Amin pair," said Syaikhu.
