Waste Channel Allegedly Polluting Cimanceuri River, Tangerang DLHK Calls These 2 Companies
JAKARTA - The Department of Environment and Hygiene (DLHK) of Tangerang Regency, Banten will again summon a number of companies suspected of polluting the Cimanceuri River in recent weeks. The summons was made based on data on findings in the field during a surprise inspection (sidak) with members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Commission IV of PT Raja Top Food, PT Bumi Pangan Utama and PT Cakrawala Indopac in the Millennium Industrial Estate."On Friday we call, PT Raja Top Food and PT Cakrawala Indopac. We will supervise and develop pollution control and environmental damage," said Head of DLHK Tangerang Regency Fachrul Rozi in Tangerang, Thursday, October 26.According to him, from a field review with a monitoring team, it was found that there was a disposal of liquid waste into a channel whose downstream was wasted into the Cimanceri River. This is also considered dangerous and has a negative impact on the surrounding community.Meanwhile, a member of Commission IV of the Tangerang Regency DPRD, Deden Umardhani, added that his party had coordinated directly with the DPRD leadership to discuss the issue of the food processing industry owned by PT Raja Top Food and PT Bumi Pangan Utama in the Millennium area which was clearly proven to dispose of the waste."I have communicated with the chairman of the DPRD and we will discuss it again with the relevant OPD-OPD, one of which is DLHK," he said.He considered that the pollution of the Cimanceuri River was due to a lack of strong supervision and control by related parties in wastewater management that was produced by the industry. Therefore, he said, in the future DLHK is asked to carry out stricter supervision so that companies or managers of industrial estates can follow the rules according to applicable regulations.
"So in the future, officials who are obliged to carry out supervision must be stronger, both in supervision and disciplinary action against anyone who ignores or intentionally makes mistakes in the production wastewater management process," he said.
