Terungkap! Rudolf Schenker Tidak Main Guitar Di Lagu Scorpions Era Uli Jon Roth Karena Terlalu "Ngebut"
JAKARTA - Uli Jon Roth revealed there were songs on several early album Scorpions that Rudolf Schenker did not play. For Roth, it was faster for her to record her own parts.
The guitarist then said songs such as Virgin Killer (1978) and Takenn By Force (1979) did not feature the founder of Scorpions, Schenker.
Uli revealed this when speaking to Eonmusic about his upcoming British tour.
Talking about his time with German hard rock band Roth said that his environment was very harmonious.
I love being on the Scorpions, so we had fun, he said. "Many bands fall into a trap where they personalize something and then there's a lot of politics and internal power struggles. We've never experienced anything like that. The band is very relaxed and smooth, and we're just putting forward the best." "We're a very, very good team. There's never been a personality clash, and there's never been any sense of jealousy or competition or anything you're experiencing. Most bands suffer because of it, and we've never experienced it," he continued.
Talking about his decision to leave Scorpions, he clarified that it was not as much reported because the band wants to go in a more commercial direction.
"The real reason is that I developed as a writer and musician so I feel I need a different platform and more freedom," he explained.
"Yes, the Scorpions framework allows for something like Sails Of Charon, say, but I started writing things like Earthquake, you know, Japanese Dream, and those are songs that have nothing to do with Scorpions," added Roth.
"But that's what I want to do; I want to play things like that. So for me, it's actually a relatively easy decision, because I'm not really driven by thoughts about success; I'm purely driven by my artistic push, and it's against Scorpions' goal."

While talking about the classical song Sails Of Charon Uli reveals itself playing all parts of the guitar, as well as bass on certain songs Scorpions.
"I wrote the song at home and then I thought we were making a demo, and finally we were just two people in the studio who did it because I also played bass and all the rhythm guitar on that song," explained Roth.
"So it's just drummer Herman [Rarebell] and myself, and of course, Klaus Meine on vocals."
When asked, "So, you play all the guitars, all the picking musical instruments on the original recording of the song?", he replied: "Very, very often on my songs, most of the time I played all the guitars, except for the earliest albums."
"You know, Rudolf never had a problem with it. It might be a bit complicated to play it, because he has a different style. Lively, he handles it very well, but in the studio, faster when I do it myself, like, Polar Nights and all kinds of songs of this [like] Yellow Raven, much faster to play it alone."
For information, Roth was on Scorpions for five years before leaving the group in 1978, following the release of the Tokyo Tapes dual live album.
