The Bakung TPA Fire Was Successfully Extinguished

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Bandar Lampung City Government (Pemkot), Lampung Province claimed that the fire at the Bakung Waste Final Disposal Site (TPA) that had occurred since Friday (13/10) was successfully extinguished.

"The current condition at the Bakung TPA is under control, there is no fire and smoke at all," said Head of the Bandar Lampung Fire and Rescue Service, Anthoni Irawan, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.

The handling of the fire at TPA Bakung was declared complete on Friday (20/10), at around 21.30 WIB, after the fire was extinguished and did not emit smoke again on the garbage.

"Meanwhile, we declare that the fire has been extinguished, but for the next day until the next week, officers will remain on standby for TPA Bakung for 1x24 hours," he said.

Supervision is carried out at the Bakung TPA as an effort to anticipate if there is fire or smoke that returns to light, the officers will immediately extinguish it.

"So starting today, we are still alerting a fire engine and a number of officers on standby," he said.

During the blackout process at the Bakung TPA which took approximately one week, the water spent reached 2,098,000 liters.

"Starting from October 13 to 20 as many as 496 water tanks were used to extinguish the fire at the Bakung TPA or 2,098,000 liters," he said.
