PLN Targets 140 Villages In Papua To Be Powered By The End Of 2023
JAYAPURA - PT PLN Main Unit Papua and West Papua are targeting 140 villages in the area where electricity has not yet been available to enjoy electricity at the end of 2023.
"This is our homework to complete as soon as possible and our target is that in 2023 140 villages can enjoy electricity," said General Manager of PT PLN Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit Budiono in Jayapura as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.
According to Budiono, out of the total village, there are 90 villages that are included in conflict-prone areas, so PLN has collaborated with security forces to build electricity networks in all villages.
"Of course we also ask for support from the local government to build regional electricity networks that are prone to conflict," he said.

"So that in December 2023 we can complete homework, namely all villages in Papua can enjoy electricity so that it has an impact on the welfare of the community," he said.
To build an electricity network with the existence of new provinces in Papua and West Papua, his party has also formed an Electricity Project Implementation Unit (UP2K) in each New Autonomous Region (DOB) in order to support the acceleration of electricity.
