Ganjar Wants To Application The Central Java Zakat Management Program Nationally

JAKARTA The presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo hopes to be able to implement the zakat management program in Central Java to the national level to continue the benefit program for the people if they win the 2024 presidential election.

"I got a lot of input on zakat management. I think we will nationalize some good experiences and the central National Zakat Agency (Baznas) also supports it," said Ganjar when giving a speech at the opening of the PPP DPRD Bimtek and Workshop at the Mercure Ancol Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (20/10) night.

Saat sebagai Gubernur Jateng, Ganjar Pranowo mendapat penghargaan karena dianggap sukses mengelola zakat untuk kemasatan umat. Sebab, sejak dicanangkan pada tahun 2014, program Baznas Jateng terus meningkat.

In 2022, Central Java Baznas will even be able to collect IDR 82 billion and has been distributed to people in need. Management of Baznas in Central Java is not only for consumptive needs, but also for productive things such as additional capital, training and others.

Ganjar admitted that even though he no longer serves as Governor of Central Java, he still communicates with the Central Baznas. Therefore, he hopes that later programs in Central Java can be brought to a national scale.

"We are still communicating with the Central Baznas today. So we will nationalize some of the experiences we have had in Central Java," said Ganjar.

In addition, he also intends to present a breakthrough so that the potential for waqf can be maximized. This PDIP politician hopes that togetherness with Baznas can process creativity to maximize this potential so that it is more beneficial for the community.

"One more thing we need to encourage is waqf. If the waqf can manage properly, hopefully we will provide many benefits for the community," concluded Ganjar Pranowo
