Dash Sports Makes History, Holds First Short Course Swimming Championship In Indonesia
Dash Sports as a sports hub actor who connects sports fans, sports clubs, sporting events, and the community, held the Jakarta Short Course swimming championship, 19-21 October 2023.
The event, which was held by Dash Sports, made history. This is the first time as a swimming championship that specifically competes in short course numbers into several age groups.
It is natural that Jakarta Short Course then attracted the enthusiasm of swimming athletes, especially young people. More than 300 children from 34 swimming clubs did not only come from around Jabodetabek, but also from a number of cities in Sumatra, Java, Lampung, South Kalimantan and Bali.
Even the Olympic athlete, Michael Klim, also enlivened this activity. He accompanied students swimming from his swimming club which he currently manages in Bali.
Sports Coordinator Dash Sports, Yori Hehanussa explained, Jakarta Short Course is a swimming championship held in a short 25-meter-long swimming pool. This event is officially supported and received direct recommendations from PB Aquatic Indonesia.
"The term short course in Indonesia is not yet known. The size of the pond is shortened. This is the first official event in Indonesia, important for coaching to support the development of the national sports world," Yori said in a written statement.
Yori then said that Jakarta Short Sourse was initiated to become a platform in an effort to identify potential athletes and talented athletes who might represent schools, clubs, or even countries in higher-level competitions.
He said, there is database data to identify Indonesia's young talents that have not been exposed before. "So far, there has been no official and recognized database of short course athletes. This is the first," he said.

Hundreds of young athletes who came from more than 60 clubs in the Greater Jakarta area, with an age range of 8 to 40 years, competed in nine categories at the Basketball Arena Respect, Bumi Serpong Damai, South Tangerang.
"In one team, it is possible for mix players between male and female basketball players. We anticipate the presence of a total of more than tens of thousands of spectators who enliven this event by watching the match and providing support to participants," said Chief Strategic Officer Dash Sports, Imam Sulisto.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Dash Sports, Alit Aryaguna, said that his party took on the role of initiators and drivers of healthy lifestyles and sports for urban families. Therefore, they pioneered these two activities at once.
"Renang dan basket sudah populer sejak lama dan konsisten. Semoga bisa mendapatkan respons positif dari para peserta," ujar Alit.
"In 2024, we hope to hold this activity consistently. So how many times a year do basketball, how many times do we swim. We also start studying to hold it in other big cities," he continued.
"What is the mission? We want to be a means of coaching young athletes in Indonesia. We hope that young athletes will be born from the programs we make," he added.
