JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri stated that there was a report regarding the shooting of panners by Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Kali Ik area, Seradala, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
"It is true that there were reports regarding the KKB's murder of miners around Kali Ik, Yahukimo Regency, Monday, October 16," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.
"I have ordered the Yahukimo Police Chief to calculate correctly when evacuating so as not to cause new victims," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General of Police Fakhiri.
It was said that from initial reports it was reported that five miners had been shot dead.
The report was obtained from miners who managed to save themselves by running and arrived at the Kolop post.
However, to determine how many people were victims of the shooting, we are still waiting for a report from the Yahukimo Police Chief.
The KKB that carried out attacks and shootings at miners was the Nduga group which often carried out disturbances in the Nduga, Yahukimo and Bintang Mountains areas.
The attack on the panners was so that the KKB could receive supplies of food and funds.
