Kemenkominfo: Not Only Has An Economic Impact, The Mandalika MotoGP Also Introduces Indonesian Culture To The World

JAKARTA - Director of Information and Communication of the Economy and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), Septriana Tangkary said the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 not only improved the economy of the local community, but also introduced Indonesian hospitality to the world.

"Tourists can not only enjoy the atmosphere of MotoGP racing, but also explore natural beauty and enjoy special dishes, which have seven tourist villages around the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with various interesting cultural attractions," he said in a written statement received by journalists in Mandalika, NTB, Sunday as reported by Antara.

He said the relationship between racers gave a very good response to Lombok, such as buying MSME products, being friendly with the surrounding community and then they would share things like that through their social media pages.

"The racers, apart from buying MSME products, immediately shared their experiences on social media, which later went viral," he said.

Acting Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Lalu Gita Ariadi hopes that the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit will further strengthen the position of the area as a sports tourist destination.

"Hopefully 10 years of MotoGP will further strengthen NTB's position as a destination for port tourism in the future," he said.

He said the collaboration and experience in 2022, of course, the local government provided the necessary support facilities, which were expected to run smoothly and successfully at the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit on October 13-15, 2023.

"The point is that the NTB Provincial Government has an interest in the success of MotoGP, because it is not only today, but future investments," he said.
