PDIP Hopes Gus Dur's Family-Followers Support Ganjar
JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Said Abdullah hopes that KH Abdurrahman Wahid's family and followers (Gus Dur) will support Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"I think Mas Ganjar Pranowo, our presidential candidate from the PDI-P, highly upholds value politics, not political bargaining for power seats," Said said in his statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.
This is in accordance with Gus Dur's struggle and the non-political Gusdurians for the bargaining value of the position of power. They in politics fight for Islamic and humanitarian values as fought for by Gus Dur.
"I think these values will be the preference of Gus Dur and Gusdurian's family in determining their electoral political steps in the 2024 election," he said.
Therefore, Ganjar Pranowo is believed to be the most appropriate political preference for the values championed by the Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia.
The reason, continued Said, is that Ganjar must uphold the political path of humanity, laying down the agenda of strengthening tolerance and plurality in religion and having confidence as his future policy that cannot be negotiated with anything.

The chairman of the DPR's Budget Agency also said that Ganjar would place protection against minority groups (suku, religion, race, gender, and persons with disabilities) as a group that must be protected. In addition, guaranteeing their rights and freedoms in their position as citizens who are equal.
Said assessed that Gusdurian, driven by Gus Dur's daughter, Alisah Wahid, had advocated for many community groups. Not only in issues of religious tolerance and belief, but also actively involved in the struggle to eradicate corruption, the environment and climate change, and empower the people's economy.
"I think the real value struggle is in line with the values fought for by the PDI-P," said Said.
He said Gus Dur's daughters and Gusdurians had independence and idealism in determining their political steps. He also believes they can assess who the figure will be as a presidential candidate whose track record is in line with the values fought by Gus Dur.
"Of course, if you can hope, the daughters of Gus Dur and Gusdurian can fight one line with Mas Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election," he concluded.
