"There are 33 delegates and four international organizations," said Director General of Information and Public Communication of Kominfo Usman Kansong on the sidelines of the AIS Forum in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, Monday, October 9.

Usman Kansong explained that the arrival of the 21 delegation leaders landed with a time period (slot) arriving at 10.00 to 23.55 WITA.

Based on data from the AIS Forum Secretariat, as many as 19 island leaders have arrived, namely Bahrain, Marshall Island, waiver, Niue, Maldives, Malta, Saint Lucia, Japan, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Philippines, Cyprus, Fiji, Cabo Verde, Madagascar, Micronesia, Suriname, and Samoa.

International organizations scheduled to attend include the Pacific Island Forum (PIF) and the Melanesian Spearhead Group.

The leaders of island and archipelago countries and international organizations were warmly welcomed by officials from Indonesian government agencies since landing at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

All the state guests who attended were also welcomed stately by Cordon Troops from the Military Police under the coordination of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres).

Cordon's troops consist of the best military soldiers from the Indonesian Army who serve as national protocol guards.

The Cordon Troops' job is to pay military tribute to the state guests who attend, such as giving remarks with weapons, opening the doors of state guest cars, and escorting state guests from the entrance to their seats.

The guests were also greeted traditionally through a pendet dance, which is a typical Balinese welcoming dance.

The dance usually appears in various religious ceremonies and traditional ceremonies in Bali.

The delegation leaders are scheduled to attend the AIS Forum 2023 Summit at BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Bali, whose peak was opened by President Joko Widodo on October 11, 2023.

The AIS Forum is a forum for cooperation between island and archipelago countries that aims to strengthen collaboration in overcoming four global problems, namely climate change mitigation and adaptation, blue economy, handling plastic waste at sea, and maritime governance.

The implementation of the AIS Forum Summit is to strengthen the role of AIS Forum as a center for smart and innovative solutions and as a forum for mutual cooperation in encouraging future agendas, namely global marine governance.

The first AIS Forum in Bali is expected to be attended by representatives from 51 island and island countries, both at the level of head of state/government and ministerial-level representatives.
