Miguel Oliveira Is On The List Of Substitutes For Marc Marquez, Honda Is Starting To Panic
JAKARTA - MotoGP racer Miguel Oliveira is the latest rider to be contacted by Honda to replace Marc Marquez.
Marquez is expected to join Gresini Racing in 2024, especially after Ducati boss Gigi Dall Igna admitted that his move was getting closer after Japan's MotoGP.
"Currently, Honda is contacting every MotoGP racer," as reported by Speedweek.
Oliveira continues to be asked for Honda even though it has been contracted by Aprilia until 2024. Maverick Vinales has also been contacted by Honda, as previously reported by DAZN.
PedroACKa is also a racer who attracted special interest from HRC director, Yuzuru Ishikawa. However, KTM has activated the option in the teenager's contract, which was later promoted to the main class next season.
Honda was "at least half a year late" in chasing Askosta. Now, they are "starting to desperate to find" a replacement for Marquez who will leave.
"Emergency speeds are concurrent at HRC," DAZN said in the report.
Johann Zarco has been recruited as a replacement for Alex Rins at LCR Honda, who will join Yamaha next season.

But Zarco is now expected to be a "temporary" replacement for Marquez at Repsol Honda in 2024, alongside Joan Mir.
Iker Lecuona, a World Superbike Honda racer who has replaced Marquez during injury this season, is a clear choice to then join LCR with Takaaki Nakagami.
Jake Dixon's name has been rumored or became a strong rumor in the paddock to join the LCR as reported by TNT Sports.
Marquez must first negotiate a way out of his team in the last year of his contract with Honda, before joining Gresini next year.
