The Ministry Of PUPR Disburses Rp34 Billion For Repair Of Damaged Roads In Sampang
SAMPANG - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) this year allocated a budget of IDR 34 billion for repairing damaged national roads in Sampang district, East Java.
Sampang Regent Slamet Junaidi said the budget was to repair an 8.6 kilometer long road on Jalan Raya Kedungdung to Bringkoneng.
"Sampang received this allocation based on Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, September 25.
This Presidential Instruction, continued Slamet, was issued in March 2023 with the aim of handling damaged roads and increasing the absorption of regional roads throughout Indonesia through the assistance of the State Budget.
"With the budget allocation for road repairs in Sampang that are damaged, at least later it will also have an impact on the smooth transportation of Sampang residents, especially in the economic sector. The smooth road, a clear economy will also run smoothly, because freight transportation is getting easier," he said.
The former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives further explained that his party actually proposed two repair points for damaged roads, namely Jalan Kedungdung - Bringkoning and Tambengan - Banyuates.
"It's just that this year what has just been approved and accepted for repairs is Jalan Kedungdung - Bringkoning, while Tambelangan-Banyuates are still waiting for the next year's budget," said the regent.
According to data from the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of the Sampang Regency Government, the damaged roads in this district were recorded at 1,379.27 kilometers, spread across 14 sub-districts with various types of damage, such as minor, moderate and severe damage.
"The lightly damaged 201,270 kilometers, heavily damaged 256,295 kilometers, while the road with good conditions in Sampang is 921,705 kilometers," said Head of the PUPR Service of the Sampang Regency Government Moh Zis.

He said, the Sampang Regency Government always allocates a budget for repairing damaged roads, but because the APBD is limited, part of the proposed repair of damaged roads has been postponed so that many damaged roads have not been repaired.
"Aid from the Ministry of PUPR means a lot to the district government and the people of Sampang," he said.
