Mayor Of Bandung Inactive Yana Mulyana Dismissed With Disrespect

BANDUNG - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has officially dismissed the inactive Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana. Yana was previously involved in the Bandung Smart City corruption case.

The verdict was announced before the inauguration ceremony of six acting mayors and acting regents at Gedung Sate, Bandung, by Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, Wednesday, September 20.

"Disrespectfully dismissed brother H Yana Mulyana from his position as Mayor of Bandung, the remaining 2018 to 2023 term of office. He was determined in Jakarta on August 15, 4, 6, 11, and September 20, 2023. It was signed by Tito Karnavian (Minister of Home Affairs)," said the pelatik when reading the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Head of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Benni Irwan, also gave a response regarding the Minister of Home Affairs' decision regarding the dishonorable dismissal of Yana Mulyana.

Benni stated that this was the result of a legal process that had been followed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. He explained that Yana Mulyana's involvement in legal cases became the basis for the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action against this dismissal.

"Based on a decision from the court, that is the reference and grip of the Minister of Home Affairs for his dismissal," said Benni.

Previously, Yana Mulyana was involved in a corruption case related to accepting bribes and gratuities in the CCTV and ISP procurement project in Bandung City, along with two officials from the Bandung City Transportation Service, namely the Head of the Dadang Darmawan Transportation Service and the Secretary of the Transportation Service Khairur Rijal.
