Kominfo Experts Arrested By The AGO After Testifying At The Corruption Court Become Suspects
JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office have named the Expert Staff of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) Walbertus Natalius Wisang (WNW) as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the BTS 4G BAKTI Kominfo project.
Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said Walbertus was named a suspect for allegedly committing intentionally not giving information or giving false information at trial.
"Determinated as a suspect based on the Suspect Determination Letter Number: TAP-52/F.2/Fd.2/09/2023," Sumedana was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.
Before being named a suspect, Walbertus was first arrested by Jampdius investigators at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (19/9). He was arrested after giving testimony as a witness with the defendant Johnny G Plate, the former Minister of Communication and Information.
"Based on the arrest warrant, the suspect WNW was secured by the investigative team for examination in his capacity as a witness in the case," said Ketut.
Walbertus is suspected of violating the provisions of the primary article, namely Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
Subsidiary Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code or Article 21 or Article 22 in conjunction with Article 35 paragraph (1) of the Anti-Corruption Law.
"Furthermore, for the investigators' interests, the suspect was detained at the Salemba Rutan at the Attorney General's Office for 20 days from September 19 to October 8, 2023," said Sumedana.
Previously, the Director of Investigation at Jampidsus Kuntadi explained the form of unlawful acts committed by Walbertus, namely that he had given incorrect information and illegally revoked the information at trial.
The information, said Kuntadi, was obtained by investigators from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who was on trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta Court.
"Today at around 12 o'clock this afternoon we received information regarding a person's alleged actions, namely a WNW who is suspected of having committed a criminal act in violation of the provisions of Article 21 or Article 22 of the Anti-Corruption Law," said Kuntadi, Tuesday (19/9).

In his original crime, namely corruption. Investigators from the Attorney General's Office have named 11 people as suspects in alleged corruption cases that cost the state finances Rp8.32 trillion.
Of the 11 suspects, six people have undergone trials with the status of defendants, namely Anang Achmad Latif (AAL) as President Director of BAKTI Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Gahole Menak (GMS) as President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia, Yohan Suryanto (YS) as a Human Development (HUDEV) expert at the University of Indonesia in 2020.
Then Mukti Ali (MA) from PT Huwaei Technology Investment, Irwan Hermawan (IH) as Commissioner of PT Solitchmedia Synergy, and former Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate.
Meanwhile, two other suspects, namely Muhammad Yusriski Mulyana and Windi Purnama, have been carried out stage II (transmitting the suspect and evidence) to the public prosecutor and are waiting to be tried at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court.
For the three suspects who have just been named Monday (11/9), namely Jemmy Sutjiawan (JS) from the private sector, Feriandi Mirza (FM) as the Head of the Lastmile Division/Backhaul Bakti Kominfo and Elvano Hatorangan (EH) as the official commitment maker (PPK) in Bakti Kominfo.
