Russia Calls The Prohibition Of Its Citizens Bringing Cars And Goods To The European Union Region A Racist Action

JAKARTA - Russian authorities say the EU's ban on its citizens from bringing their cars and personal belongings to the block area is a racist act, while one of President Vladimir Putin's allies suggests strong countermeasures, termination of diplomatic relations.

In a record explanation of the regulations regarding sanctions imposed on the Ukraine war, the European Commission said Russian citizens were temporarily prohibited from bringing a number of personal goods or vehicles to 27 European Union countries.

The attachment in the announcement also appears to prohibit imports of a number of items that can be used repeatedly in addition to ordinary items such as makeup, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet wipes and cell phones.

"That's racism," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said in response to the Commission's advice.

"This is a clear and simple racism," he continued.

Separately, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the European Union had just spat in the face of all Russian citizens, saying they were treated as "half animals with poor offspring".

"What should we do? Of course, we don't impose restrictions on retaliation against EU citizens, we are not racist," Medvedev said.

"It would be better to temporarily suspend diplomatic relations with the EU," Medvedev continued.

The West is known to impose strict sanctions on Russia after President Vladimir Putin ordered its troops to Ukraine in a massive invasion in 2022. Moscow says sanctions and seizures of Russian property are the same as declarations of economic war.

The Kremlin has promised that Russia will never bow to the West compared to Ukraine.

It is known, Article 3i of Council Regulation 833/2014 prohibits the purchase, import, or transfer, directly or indirectly, of goods as stated in the XXI Attachment of the Regulation if it comes from Russia or exported from Russia. Including motorized vehicles (mobi() included in the code CN 8703."

Some Russians say the West sometimes play with the Kremlin, calling all Russian citizens an enemy to be punished and ostracized for a war they cannot play.

The Kremlin says Russian citizens are illegally discriminated against in the West amid the Russophobia wave.
