Maintain Inflation, Pertamina Secures Fuel Supply And Elpiji
PT Pertamina (Persero) supports the Government's efforts to maintain inflation levels by ensuring the supply of fuel oil (BBM) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Indonesia.
For this reason, Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati explained that Pertamina implemented a strategy by maintaining upstream and downstream oil and gas supply, infrastructure reliability, and meeting stock supply, both crude oil and oil and gas products.
With these efforts, he said, Pertamina can maintain the stability of the price of its products, especially fuel and LPG which are downstream oil and gas products that affect inflation.
"Pertamina will continue to monitor the supply of fuel and LPG, especially subsidies, so that they remain safe and on target. One of them is by maintaining it in terms of supply, because if supply decreases, there can be an increase in prices in the market," said Nicke at the 2023 Inflation Control Coordination Meeting quoted on Tuesday, September 5.
Nicke added that Pertamina's efforts to maintain this supply are not only downstream oil and gas or products. However, in an integrated manner, from upstream to downstream.
"The upstream production of Pertamina's fields must be maintained so that the supply of crude oil for refineries is sufficient so that the refinery is able to produce fuel products and their derivatives are in accordance with the needs of the community," continued Nicke.
To ensure these supplies and stocks, added Nicke, Pertamina utilizes digital technology that can provide data and stock information in real time from all energy distribution infrastructure. With this technology, Pertamina can ensure sufficient stock in various regions in Indonesia.

"We have a Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data and Command Center to monitor all stock from the refinery, then those on the ship to the gas station. We keep it from scarcity," said Nicke.
Pertamina, continued Nicke, has also digitized gas stations and registered the right subsidy so that the distribution of subsidized fuel can be controlled and monitored properly. In line with Government regulations in ensuring subsidies are right on target, Pertamina is also currently registering people who are entitled to LPG 3 kg subsidies.
Nicke added that Pertamina also appreciated the Government's support in maintaining targeted distribution, which ultimately had positive implications.
"The government has issued regulations that maintain the distribution of LPG. We will continue to ensure that its implementation in the field runs smoothly," concluded Nicke.
