Pertamina Will Build Bioethanol Mixing Facility in Plumpang
JAKARTA - Main Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati revealed that in the future her party will establish a blending facility for Pertamax Green 95. Pertamax green itself is a BBM that results from a mixture of Pertamax which has an octane rating of 92 with bioethanol so that it has an octane rating of 95.
"The next thing is that Jakarta must complete a blending facility in Plumpang," Nicke said in a hearing with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Represetatives (DPR RI), Wednesday, August 30.
She explained that all this time the process of blending green fuel was still being carried out in East Java and transported to Jakarta. For this reason, Nicke revealed that his party was working on building this facility.
So far, continued Nicke, Pertamax Green 95 is marketed through 15 gas stations spread across Jakarta and Surabaya. Consists of 5 gas stations in Jakarta and 10 gas stations in Surabaya.
She further explained that this is in line with Pertamina's plan in 2024 which will only sell three fuel oil products (BBM) in 2024. Those being sold are Pertamax Green 92, Pertamax Green 95 and Pertamax Turbo.
Nicke explained, this was motivated by Pertamina's program namely Blue Sky which succeeded in removing RON 88 or Premium BBM and replacing it with Pertalite.
"We are continuing according to plan, namely the second phase of the blue sky program where we increase the fuel subsidy from RON 90 to RON 92," added Nicke.

This is also related to the regulations of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) which states that the octane value that can be sold in Indonesia is a minimum of 91.
Nicke believes that this program is very appropriate to reintroduce in Indonesia because from an environmental perspective it can reduce carbon emissions, secondly, the bioethanol program is being implemented more massively and thirdly it can reduce gasoline imports which have been carried out by Indonesia.
