Two members of the Sinjai Regency DPRD, South Sulawesi, who were arrested for taking methamphetamine are only recommended to be rehabilitated at the Sayang Rakyat Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"After investigators conducted a case title, the result was that both of them were assessed at the South Sulawesi Provincial BNN and were recommended for rehabilitation. They are currently being rehabilitated at the Sayang Hospital," said Head of Sub-Directorate 2 of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sulawesi Police AKBPFajri quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30.
The two members of the Sinjai Regency DPRD who were involved in the drug case had the initials MW and KM.
Fajri explained that in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in Article 54 it was stated that narcotics addicts and victims of narcotics abuse were required to undergo medical rehabilitation and social rehabilitation.
That way, for criminal acts for both of them according to the law, it is not enforced because the two legislators are categorized as victims or abusers.

Confirmed separately, Public Relations of the Makassar People's Hospital, Sapril, confirmed that MW and KM were undergoing a rehabilitation period at the hospital.
Regarding how long the rehabilitation period is, he admits that it is not known because it depends on the results of the assessment from the assessor.
"Currently, there are several stages of the program that must be passed, for example detox. Detox means separating the substance and currently it is still in the rehabilitation process," said Safril.
