Case Of Exchanged Baby In Bogor Completed, Here's The End Of The Story

BOGOR - The case of the exchange of babies experienced by residents of Ciseeng District, Bogor Regency, Siti Mauliah, finally found a bright spot.

After jointly conducting a DNA test, Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro confirmed that two interchanged babies were born at Sentosa Hospital in Bogor on July 18, 2022.

Rio explained that on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 15.00 WIB to 22.30 WIB the police had mediated between Siti's mother and Mrs. B to inform the results of the DNA tests of both parties.

"Earlier, we have mediated and an agreement has been made, based on the results of the Criminal Investigation Center of the National Police Headquarters, where it was found that it was fixed 99.99 percent based on data provided by the Head of the Laboratory represented by him, that the child was indeed swapped," said Rio, Sunday, August 27.

Rio also conveyed several efforts made by the police in furthering the report submitted by Siti Mauliah against Mrs. B.

"We have taken steps from the investigation, then gathered witnesses, conducted in-depth examinations of hospitals, and all nurses and midwives who were at the time of the incident," said Rio.

Rio also explained the situation that occurred after Puslabfor read out the results of the DNA test in front of both parties which said 99.99 percent fit biologically and confirmed that the two children with the initials G and G had been swapped since one year ago at Sentosa Hospital in Bogor.

"After that with the greatness of the hearts of both parties, the process after being read by the Bareskrim Laboratory, we thank God for the grace of Allah SWT, each party can accept with extraordinary happiness," he said.

Furthermore, based on a joint agreement from both parties, the agreement regarding the next responsibility for children is given to biological parents.

"Earlier it was also decided that the child's growth process will be the responsibility of the new father, the new mother, who is his biological father," he explained.

In addition, Rio also conveyed the mandate of the West Java Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Akhmad Wiyagus who ordered the Bogor Police Chief to appoint the two children to be the adopted children of the Bogor Resort Police.

"And the two children, with the permission of the Kapolda, we appointed them as the adopted children of the Bogor Police. All the responsibilities of the child are the responsibility of their three parents, namely biological father, and namely the Bogor Police who became the child's parents," he explained.

Rio also explained that the police, after this, will conduct further investigations to the Sentosa Bogor Hospital regarding the case of this exchange of babies, into information on allegations of intentional or negligence committed by the hospital to the two victims.

Meanwhile, there will be a follow-up process carried out by the Bogor Police and related agencies to seek the transfer of the two baby boys to their biological parents.
