Police Name Perpetrator Of Child Rape Attempt In Denpasar Suspect
DENPASAR - Joint officers of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Denpasar City Police and the East Denpasar Sector Police have banned Muhammad Rizieq Fatah (20) for trying to rape a minor in North Denpasar, Bali.
Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Bambang Yugo Pamungkas said that he not only attempted rape of RK victims who were still in elementary school, the man from Banyuwangi, East Java also committed physical violence by strangling the victim's neck.
"The motive of the perpetrator from the results of the examination, the perpetrator was eager after peeking at the victim and trying to rape the victim," said Bambang Yugo accompanied by the Head of the East Denpasar Police, Iptu Putu Carlos Dolesgit, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 25.
Bambang Yugo explained that the attempted rape of children by MRF perpetrators occurred on Thursday (24/8) at around 07.00 WITA when the victim was about to go to school.
Before attempting to rape, the 20-year-old man also peeked at the victim through the glass gap in the window of the victim's house where the victim was taking a shower.
Not only that, the MRF perpetrator also had time to video the victim two days earlier when the victim was taking a shower.
"Two days earlier (Tuesday 22/8) the perpetrator videoed the victim while taking a shower, through a captain. The perpetrator saw the victim going to take a shower and then the victim peeked again on Sunday, then the victim finished bathing and entered the room. Then at that time the perpetrator entered the victim's room," said Bambang.
The perpetrator, who was already in the room, tried to rape the victim and threatened her, but the victim screamed for help so that the victim's father and grandmother heard the screams. After that, the perpetrator who worked as a building worker fled.
After experiencing this incident, the victim's family also reported to the police. On Thursday (24/8) night, the perpetrator was arrested by the Denpasar Police Satreskrim and the North Denpasar Police.

When presented at the Denpasar Police, the perpetrator admitted to videoing the victim while taking a shower. The police will also send the perpetrator's cellphone to find out the whereabouts of the video that has been recorded by the perpetrator, as well as evidence during the trial.
"We still got one (video) on this cellphone, but we will send a cellphone to the Labfor (Bali Police) to see how many times and cross-check the perpetrator's statement with the available evidence," he said.
Investigators are still investigating the purpose of the perpetrator to video the child and explore the possibility of other victims of the perpetrator's actions.
"Regarding what the video is for, we will still explore how many times we have recorded, we will convey what is the information of the perpetrator. The perpetrator admitted that this was the first time. The victim is currently only one, so we will check the cellphone whether there are other people, what was recorded," said Bambang.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 285 of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 53 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 82 Juncto 76 E of Law Number 23 of 2022 concerning child protection with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 15 years.
