Cak Imin Enters Ganjar's Vice Presidential Radar, PKB: We Are Tempted, But Not Goyang

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin is included in the radar of Ganjar Pranowo's assistant vice presidential candidate (cawapres). Cak Imin, is one of the 5 names of the PDIP vice presidential candidates.

Responding to this, PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid admitted that the inclusion of Cak Imin as a candidate for vice president Ganjar was a big temptation for the party that had supported Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate.

Initially, Jazilul revealed the close relationship between PKB and PDIP. As a friend, he said, of course PKB will accept the PDIP proposal for Cak Imin in pairs with Ganjar.

"Look, Mr. Ganjar is a presidential candidate who is promoted by PDIP. PDIP and PKB are old friends. Second, Gus Imin's name is also listed on the list of candidates for 5 names who will accompany Mr. Ganjar. So if the public sees, 'Wow, it's been protested,' it's the public, but if the general chairman says, Mrs. Mega said it's appropriate, Gus Imin said it's peaceful, PPP said it's okay to go," said Jazilul at the DPR building, Wednesday, August 23.

However, he continued, PKB had already tied its promise with the Gerindra Party and supported Prabowo Subianto's candidacy. PKB, said Jazilul, is already committed to this.

"But not now, because today PKB is with Gerindra. So it's up to the final decision," said Jazil.

Jazilul also admitted that his party was tempted to join the PDIP after hearing the news that Cak Imin was included in the 5 names of Ganjar's vice presidential candidates. Even so, he said, PKB is still committed to Gerindra, who until now has not decided who Prabowo's vice presidential candidate is.

"We are tempted, the big temptation for PKB," said Jazilul.

"But PKB didn't shake, still focused on completing the conversation with Gerindra," he added.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said that Ganjar Pranowo's vice presidential candidate had narrowed to 5 names, one of which was Cak Imin.

"Now it has narrowed 5, one of which is Cak Imin," said Puan.

The other four names are Menparekraf and Chairman of Bappilu PPP Sandiaga Uno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, former TNI Commander Andika Perkasa, and Democrat Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).
