Mahfud Will Meet Exiles in 1965 in Europe Informs the Rights of Victims of Serious Human Rights Violations
JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD revealed that he would be visiting several European countries and South Korea starting Tuesday, August 22.
"Tomorrow I will go to Turkey for security cooperation. After that I will go to Amsterdam, Prague, and the Czech Republic," Mahfud said at the Sunan Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, August 21, reported by Antara.
The visit was carried out to discuss security and meet the 1965 exiles. He will also provide information regarding the implementation of human rights (HAM).
Mahfud emphasized that his arrival was not to pick up the exiles back to their homeland. This is because the decision to return to Indonesia is the right of the exiles.
"That's not to pick you up. To meet and inform about the rights of victims of gross human rights violations because that's a constitutional right," he said.

According to Mahfud, a non-judicial solution for exiled victims of gross human rights violations should be grateful. They received recognition from the state after the tragedy of the 30 September Movement or G30S 1965.
The government has also promised to improve and fulfill the victims' rights.
"We received an extraordinary welcome, not only from the regions, not only from Indonesia but also the UN Human Rights Council immediately stated that progress had been long overdue in Indonesia, only now being opened," he concluded.
