OJK: Indonesian Student Savings Value Reaches IDR 29 Trillion
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar said, currently the savings value of Indonesian students reaches a total of Rp29 trillion. With this fund, Mahendra continued, when compared to the financing of toll road construction, it can finance about 600 kilometers (km). Through this enormous potential, his party invites students to open savings accounts, so that in the future the potential that is beneficial for the country can be created. "Imagine if these people will continue to save as adults have a job career, what we need for development funding, whether it is for infrastructure, industry, MSMEs can be more and more fulfilled themselves," he explained. Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisor of Financial Services Business Actors, Education, and Consumer Protection of OJK Friederica Widyasari Dewi said, his party targets financial inclusion programs as much as 90 percent by 2024.
