The Ministry Of PUPR Projects IKN Development To Be Completed At The Same Time As Indonesia Gold In 2045

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) projects that the construction of the entire National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago will be completed in 2045.

Chairman of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force of the Ministry of PUPR, Danis H Sumadilaga, said that IKN development is not only physical development, but there is a transformation of life and transformation of work, especially in terms of the use of technology.

"This is our opportunity to change, so IKN is a means for change to be better than since we were independent until 2045 or exactly 100 years of independent Indonesia. If it doesn't start now, when will it be," said Danis in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, August 18.

Danis said that several basic IKN infrastructures, which will mainly be completed in 2024, are the construction of government offices in the central government area (KIPP), meeting clean water needs, and several road networks to improve connectivity to the IKN area.

"Until now, the progress of the basic infrastructure construction of IKN Phase 1 has reached 38.1 percent and all activities are still maintained in terms of the implementation schedule (on schedule)," he said.

For the basic infrastructure construction contract, the work of IKN phase 1 has been started since 2021, such as the construction of the Phase 1 IKN Access Toll Road, Sepaku Semoi Dam, State Palace, and the Presidential Office.

The Ministry of PUPR has also started the construction of the second phase of IKN. Contracts for this stage of signing projects began in April-May 2023, such as the coordinating ministry building 2 and the ASN IKN flat (rusun).

He added that currently the construction of the toll road to KIPP IKN is being completed, which is connected to the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road. With this toll road, it can shorten the distance from Balikpapan to the IKN Core Area, which was previously around two hours to only about an hour.

For the construction of the IKN Toll Road, which is currently running, there are three sections, namely Section 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau with a length of 13.4 kilometers (km), Section 3B KKT Kariangau- Tempadung Intersection with a length of 7.32 km, and Section 5A Simpang Tempadung-Jembatan Pulau Balang with a length of 6.67 km.

Currently, the progress in the 3A segment is 12.33 percent, Section 3B is 30.11 percent, and Section 5A is 37.39 percent. These three sections are targeted to be completed around July 2024.

Furthermore, Danis explained that the section 5B-1 of the IKN Toll Road for the Balang-Simpang Island Bridge segment of the VVIP Airport Plan and Section 5B-2 Simpang Plan for VVIP-Riko Airport will start the auction in September 2023 with a November 2023 contract target.

Meanwhile, section 6A Riko- Outer Ring Road IKN and section 6B ITCI Outer Ring Road-Simpang 3 Outer Plan are currently in the process of auctioning work packages. Meanwhile, section 1 section of Sepinggan Airport- Balsam Toll Road will be auctioned in October 2023 with a contract target in December 2023.

Later, continued Danis, for section 4, an underwater tunnel construction (immersed tunnel) will be prepared to protect the environment and in section 4 two routes for animals are also provided, so there is a kind of short tunnel. "For immersed tunnel, it is currently still in the process of auctioning design work," he concluded.
