Observer: RAPBN Must Encourage The Realization Of Transformation In The Center To Regions

JAKARTA - Economic observer who is also a monetary expert at Jember University, Adhitya Wardhono PhD, said that the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) must encourage the realization of economic transformation at the central to regional levels.

"The architecture of the 2024 RAPBN is prepared to address the impact of the changes that exist in accelerating economic transformation into one of the mandatory agendas in 2024," he said in a written statement in Jember Regency, East Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 17.

For this reason, he continued, there needs to be an aggressive response from the fiscal policy that will be prepared in the future to accelerate this target and the main focus in future fiscal policies must be responsive to the changes that occur in the global and national economy.

"Indonesia must also be prepared with changes or sentiments that also come from the global financial and monetary markets because it is undeniable that the sentiment of the financial and monetary markets of other countries is a source of shock which has a relatively big influence on Indonesia's economic and social changes," he said.

The lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Unej, said that it is no less important that the government should pay attention to increasing productivity in the economic sector, developing a green economy, digital transformation, and regional economic integration.

"Indonesia in the future also needs to launch fiscal policies that also focus on these factors in order to accelerate economic transformation in 2024," he said.

Adhitya said the post-pandemic issue of Indonesia's economy was "Economic Awakening", so it was not surprising that the 2024 State Budget draft as emphasized in the presidential speech led to a revival by answering the challenges that took place.

The 2024 State Budget Draft in the future, as stated by President Jokowi, supports economic transformation, so that issues raised such as downstreaming, digitization and sustainable economy are contemplation with the 2024 State Budget structure.

"On the digitalization point, it is important to observe because it is a megatrend in being the leverage in the future. That's why the 2024 State Budget draft needs to also focus on that issue," he said.
