Subject To Hypnosis, Savings For A Civil Servant In Pekanbaru Raib Is IDR 70 Million

PEKANBARU - A mother who works as a civil servant (PNS) in a government agency in Pekanbaru City, Riau became a victim of hypnosis. As a result, the 53-year-old woman lost up to IDR 70 million.

The impulsive incident occurred in front of the office of the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) of Riau Province which is located on Jalan Cut Nyak Dien, Pekanbaru City.

The Head of the Pekanbaru Police Resum, Iptu Renaldy Yudhista, confirmed the occurrence of the hypnotized incident. It said the Pekanbaru Police were investigating the alleged hypnotation reported by the victim.

"It is true that there were reports of hypnotized victims that occurred in front of the Riau BKD Office. We are still investigating the report," said Renaldy, Friday, August 11.

Renaldy explained, the incident occurred on Monday last week at around 09.00 WIB. At that time, he said, the victim was approached by someone who asked about the Pekanbaru Teacher's Building.

"The victim, who is known to be a civil servant, was visited by an unknown person, asking where the Teacher's Building was," he said.

After showing the Teacher's Building, the victim was found by a woman who wanted to exchange the dollar money. Shortly thereafter, a black Avanza car came asking the victim to exchange dollars.

"Furthermore, the victim was brought home to take the savings book and taken to Bank Mandiri and Bank Riau Kepri on Jalan Sudirman. While at the bank, the victim's account was drained with a loss of approximately Rp. 70 million," he explained.

Based on CCTV footage, said Renaldy, the perpetrators are suspected to be four people.

"Currently, the Pekanbaru Police Criminal Investigation Unit is conducting an investigation, deepening and hunting down the perpetrators of the impulsive case," he added.
