The Boss Of An Illegal Gold Miner In Sukabumi Was Arrested

"This arrest is thanks to information from the public which we later developed and succeeded in arresting a gurandil who is also a financier with the initials AS (54) a resident of Kampung Mekarasih, Ciemas Village/District, Sukabumi Regency on Tuesday, yesterday," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.
According to Maruly, the suspect's arrest began with a report from the public who looked back at the gold mining activities that were closed a few months ago, precisely in the Cibuluh Block, Ciemas Village/District.
From the results of the development, investigators from the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim arrested six suspected irregulars on Tuesday, (9/8).
From the results of the examination of the six people and continuing to the case title, finally one of the six people was named a suspect, namely the US.
The results of the investigation turned out that the suspect was not only limited to being a irregular but also an investor to carry out illegal gold mining on land that was included in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Wilton Wahana Indonesia.
The confiscated evidence included two motorbikes, four sacks of mining chunks, one generator unit, one thigh hammer, a receipt and a cooperative member card.
"Until now we are still developing this case to reveal the intellectual actors," he added.
Maruly said that to uncover the illegal gold mining case in his jurisdiction, the Sukabumi Police received assistance from Unit II Sub-Directorate IV of the West Java Police Ditreskrimsus.
Currently, he said there is a new modus operandi to carry out illegal mining. Where, to carry out these illegal activities, there are those who coordinate, where anyone can carry out mining as long as they pay a certain amount of money to certain groups.
Thus, this illegal mining activity has been coordinated by the group, which is currently pursuing the alleged perpetrator.

The US was charged with a layered Law (UU), namely Article 89 paragraph 1 UURI Number 8 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction and Article 158 UURI Number 3 of 2020 concerning Amendments to UURI Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining.
