Supreme Court Holds Ferdy Sambo's Cassation Decision Trial Today
JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) held a hearing on the decision on the cassation filed by Ferdy Sambo, accused of premeditated murder Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J today, Tuesday 8 August.
"Yes, that's right (the Supreme Court issued a decision on Sambo's cassation today)", said Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau, MA Sobandi, when contacted by journalists in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 8.
Sobandi did not specify the trial schedule. However, he said he would explain further regarding the trial decision through a release to the press.
"Later I will make a release", said Sobandi.
Previously, Ferdy Sambo, who was the former Head of the Professional and Security Division of the National Police, filed an appeal for cassation on May 12, 2023.
Based on the Case Information System on the ma web page, Ferdy Sambo's cassation application was registered with case number 813 K/Pid/2023. Meanwhile, the status of the case is written in the assembly examination process.

The panel of judges sent down by the Supreme Court to try the case is Suhadi as chairman of the panel; Suharto as a member of assembly 1; Jupriyadi as a member of assembly 2; Desnayeti as a member of assembly 3; and Yohanes Priyana as a member of assembly 4.
Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death by a panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, February 13. Then, on Thursday, February 16, he appealed against the decision of the South Jakarta District Court panel of judges.
Then, at the hearing on Wednesday April 12, the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) rejected Ferdy Sambo's appeal and upheld the South Jakarta District Court's decision regarding his death sentence.
"Strengthening the decision of the South Jakarta District Court number 796/Pid.B/2022/PN JKT.SEL dated 13 February 2023 for which the appeal was requested", said Chief Judge Singgih Budi Prakoso in the trial of the appeal decision at PT DKI Jakarta.
