BULD Fund Corruption Suspect Sumbawa Hospital Files Pretrial, Prosecutor's Office: Please

JAKARTA - The former Director of the Sumbawa Regional General Hospital (RSUD) with the initials DHB as well as a suspect in corruption in the management of funds from the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) filed a pretrial. The Prosecutor's Office stated that it was ready to deal with it

"This legal effort (pretrial) is their right. So, go ahead. It will be proven later in court," said Head of the Sumbawa District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Adung Sutriangono who was met in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, August 3.

In handling this alleged corruption case, Adung said the prosecutor's office had carried out all stages in accordance with legal procedures.

In fact, Adung ensured that the determination of the suspect DHB was based on the finding of sufficient evidence.

"So, we don't just arrest people. Based on the tiered examination and this witness is the basis for us to determine the suspect and immediately arrest him," he said.

Meanwhile, DHB's attorney, Surahman, confirmed that his client filed a pretrial effort.

The basis for this submission saw the implementation of the prosecutor's law in determining DHB as a suspect. According to him, his client did not act as alleged, but the name of his client had been painted by hospital personnel.

"Our client is innocent, his name is actually used to engineer a fictitious project. So, our client here is only a victim because his signature was forged," said Surahman.

In addition, Surahman also claimed that his client had never asked for money or goods from procurement contractors, but the person who did this was an irresponsible person within the Sumbawa Hospital.

"Our client has actually reported the alleged extortion and criminal act of forgery to the Sumbawa Police, last January, and is currently still in process," he said.

With the report, according to him, the prosecutor's office should wait for legal certainty from the court.

"This should have been one by one, wait for legal certainty from the court so as not to fumble in implementing the law," he said.

Surahman asked the ranks of the Sumbawa Police to continue the legal process that came from his client's report.

For handling at the prosecutor's office, he stated that his client still respects the ongoing legal process.

He reminded the prosecutor's office to continue to prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence against his client.

In preparation for the pretrial hearing, Surahman stated that his party had prepared 11 pieces of evidence that would reveal that the prosecutor's office had made a mistake regarding the determination of DHB as a suspect.
