Sukabumi Police have named the Head of SMPN 1 Ciambar, Sukabumi Regency, West Java with the initials K (55) for the death of a MAP student (12) while attending the school environment introduction period (MPLS) on Saturday, (22/7).
"From the results of the investigation, collection of information and evidence, then the implementation of the exhumation (autopsy) on the victim's body to the title of the case, we found several irregularities that caused the victim to die due to drowning in the Cileuluy River last Saturday," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede reported by ANTARA, Thursday, 27 Jli.
According to Maruly, after the case was carried out, this case was upgraded from investigation to investigation and named K as the Head of SMPN 1 Ciambar as a suspect in the case of MAP's death (12).
The victims drowned in the Cileuluy River, Selaawigirang Village, Cibunarjaya Village, Ciambar District while attending the MPLS and the presurface education orientation period (MOK) on Saturday, (22/7).
The basis for his party to determine K to be a suspect is the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2016 concerning the introduction of the school environment to new students, especially in Article 9 paragraph 2 which explains that schools are required to include details of the activities of introducing new extracurricular members by asking for permission in writing to each student's parents as referred to in paragraph 1.
Then in paragraph 4 if there is a potential risk for new students in the introduction of new members, in the extracurricular activity as referred to in paragraph 1 of schools, they are required to make mapping and handling risks and inform guardian parents to get approval.
It turned out that from the results of the examination of witnesses ranging from students, schools, parents of students and others, K violated all the rules in the imendikbud or had committed negligence which resulted in the death of a student.

Moreover, it was revealed that during these cross-country activities, students who took part in the MPLS were required to cross the river by swimming, even though the activity was very dangerous and of course every student had to be accompanied by an expert.
Furthermore, during the activities of MPLS and MOPK, suspect K did not check the condition of participants at each post, it is strongly suspected that the victim was separated from supervision and was only found to have drowned when the victim's parents reported that their child had not returned.
"New evidence was found in this case, such as each child was ordered to swim across the river and the information we got from the results of the examination of witnesses of this cross-country activity was included in the MPLS agenda on the MPOK agenda," said the Police Chief.
Maruly said that until now investigators are still investigating and developing the case and it is possible that there will be new suspects if later other evidence is found.
As a result of his negligence, suspect K is threatened with imprisonment for a maximum of five years in accordance with the article that was tightened, namely Article 359 of the Criminal Code concerning Goods of anyone for causing the Death of another person.
