Immigration Picks Up The Ball, A Foreigner Who Stays At Borobudur Can Extend His Stay Permit
MAGELANG - The Wonosobo Immigration Office opened an extension of the residence permit for foreign nationals (WNA) at the super priority tourist destination of Borobudur Temple.
This was said by the Head of the Wonosobo Immigration Office, Ari Widodo, after the socialization and soft launching of the residence permit extension service for foreigners to visit Borobudur Temple.
"This service is only from five super priority tourist destinations in Indonesia," he said in Magelang, Central Java, Wednesday, July 26, which was confiscated by Antara.
Ari said that the Borobudur Temple tourist area is in Magelang Regency, which is the working area of the Wonosobo Non-TPI Class II Immigration Office.
According to him, Borobudur Temple is a world cultural heritage so that many foreign tourists are interested in visiting.
"This service supports government programs by making innovations that provide easy immigration services, especially to foreigners from VOA and EVOA subjects," he said.
He said, during the trial of this service since early July 2023, there were 20 foreign tourists who extended their residence permit for visits to Borobudur Temple.
"Currently, maybe not too many have taken advantage of it, hopefully if it has been published it can be more optimal," he said.
General Manager of the Borobudur Unit PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) Jamaludin Mawardi said that the collaboration between the TWC and the Immigration Office was positive.
"Borobudur's super priority tourism destination is traffic for many tourist visits, the Immigration Office is here in Borobudur to provide pick-up services, I think for tourists this is something positive, they don't bother anymore, for example, the residence permit visa can almost run out and can be extended as well as travel to Borobudur," he said.
