Collaboration With Malaysia, Horror Film The Parcel Ready To Film
JAKARTA - Director Andi Bachtiar will comeback working on a feature film entitled The Parcel. This time, the 49-year-old director collaborated with a Malaysian production house, 4WARD Pictures.
The Parcel will be a special film for Andi Bachtiar. For the first time since making his directorial debut in 2004, he will handle horror genre films.
Meanwhile, the reason for accepting this film project is because Andi Bachtiar feels challenged to work on horror films. He wants to make something different outside the drama and comedy genres he usually works on.
"Just want to do a horror film, I feel challenged. Someone else can, I can't," Andi Bachtiar said at a press conference in Kalibata, South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 25.
Andi said the story idea from The Parcel came from one of the producers of Malaysian nationality. However, he asked for the help of one of the Indonesian writers to complete the story.
"The idea is from Malaysia, one of the producers there. I think it's a bit less local, I finally wrote it again, invite one other author. But the foundation came from Malaysia," said Andi.
The director also promised to include elements of football in his film later, considering that sports and football are his trademarks during his career as a director.
"There is (the element of football), definitely is. How, basically there is. Andy Bachtiar Yusuf must have the ball," he said.
The Parcel itself will undergo the shooting process in the near future. This film stars Atiqah Hasiholan, Baim Wong, Putri Ayudya, Amir Ahnaf, Whani Dharmawan, Nora Danish and many more.
